Davao City Economic Enterprises Officer-in-Charge Maximo Macalipes Jr. in an interview over the Davao City Disaster Radio on Friday said that during the masses offered during observation of the Undas 2022, the offices within the CEE operated-public cemeteries were blessed and inaugurated and ready for receiving clients.

“Sa presensya sa atoang opisina mas madali ang naay magpalubong (With the presence of our offices the interment arrangements become easier),” Macalipes said.

Personnel in the offices can efficiently explain to clients about lease contracts and easily cater to interment in the cemeteries.

The clients will also be briefed on the rates of the lease stipulated in the 2017 Revenue Code of Davao. With the accomplishment of the lease contracts, the location of the burial areas will be properly identified and easily located.

Macalipes said that they aim to develop the public cemeteries in the city with the Wireless cemetery as the standard.

“Dako ang tabang sa residents nga ingon ana ang atong sementeryo (it is really a huge help for residents that we have that kind of cemetery),” Macalipes said, adding that the compartmentalized niches are more structurally sound.

CEE is now focusing on the rehabilitation of the Panacan Cemetery, especially its perimeter fence. They also seek to develop a perimeter fence at the Lubogan Cemetery to prevent floodwaters from entering it.

Macalipes said that the recent face-to-face observance of the Undas 2022 has been quite successful also in coordination with the security cluster and health cluster and other national government offices. CIO
