At least 4,000 clients have applied for a library card from the Davao City Library and Information Center (DCLIC) barely three months after it started operation, DCLIC head Salome Enoc said in an interview with the Davao City Disaster Radio on Monday.
âNakita nato in barely three months naa nataây 4,000 sobra nga mga miyembro and clients, usahay naga full capacity gyud ta. It goes to show that relevant kaayo hangtod karon ang atoang library (We saw that in barely three months we already have over 4,000 members and clients, and we experience full capacity often. It goes to show that until now our library is relevant), Enoc said.
She added that for the library card, due to the influx, they process around 200 applicants daily. They have experienced delays in the release of the 100-peso card for a while but the application and release for the same card continue.
DCLIC has recently received visitors from representatives of local government offices from as far Calamba in Laguna, Palawan, and General Santos, for benchmarking.
âWe are always on our toes, tungod kay daghan ta og visitors (We are always on our toes because we have many visitors),â Enoc said.
She added that currently, the DCLIC is waiting for the approval of the Department of Education (DepEd) for the Book Mobile services for schools.
Enoc said that Dabawenyos, especially senior citizens, are welcome to visit the DCLIC. She assured that the area undergoes sanitation every Saturday to ensure that the place is always ready and hygienic for visitors. CIO
