The Davao City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) has asked drivers and commuters to be more patient when the city implements a traffic rerouting system to give way for the repair of Talomo Bridge 2 starting on Sunday, April 14.

City Traffic Chief Dionisio Abude said, “We ask for the public’s understanding because the rerouting is necessary for the rehabilitation of the bridge to better serve the public.”

He said the Talomo Bridge 2 will be closed for an indefinite period until repair works will be completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Starting on Sunday, the vehicles from Calinan will detour to Magtuod-Tugbok Road and exit to Carlos P. Garcia Highway or Diversion Road.

Vehicles coming from Mintal may pass the road to Elenita Heights, Catalunan Grande and exit Carlos P. Garcia Highway.

Those coming from Toril or Puan will take Talomo Road to Ortiz St., Mitra Compound, Taal St., and exit to Central Park or Matina Aplaya.

Vehicles coming from Matina or Bangkal areas may take Central Park, Cordillera St., Taal St., to the Bailey Bridge and exit to Talomo/Puan area.

Meanwhile, the vehicles coming from Buhangin-C.P. Garcia Highway may pass the Magtuod-Tugbok Road via Biao Escuela, exiting to Tugbok or may take via Biao Joaquin exiting to Calinan Area, while those from Quimpo Boulevard may take Matina Aplaya Relief Bridge to Cordillera St., Taal St., Bailey Bridge and exit to the Talomo/Puan area.

Abude said the re-opening of the Talomo Bridge 2 will depend on the notice from DPWH. CIO
