The City Transportation and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) will conduct an education drive for drivers who do not have a Public Utility Vehicle ID on February 24 Friday at the CTTMO Office located on Elias B. Lopez Street corner Patnubay Street, SIR Matina.

CTTMO head Dionisio Abude told the City Information Office on Monday, that traffic rules and regulations according to City Ordinance No. 0334-12, Series of 2012, or the Comprehensive Transport and Traffic Code of Davao City, road safety, and defensive driving will be explained in detail during the education drive.

“At least kung wala man ang uban nakaagi or dili sila attentive during sa seminar nila pagkuha sa driver’s license at least pag-abot diri sa public utility vehicle education program madungagan ang ilahang kahibalo especially sa road safety. (At least those who were not able to undergo a seminar or those who are not attentive during the seminar when they applied for a driver’s license, at least here in the public utility vehicle registration program they will have added knowledge, especially on road safety),” Abude said.

Abude said that inputs on functions of the traffic lights, use of the yellow lane, pavements parking and other traffic signages will be given during the info drive.

The main requirements for the seminar are a driver’s license and official receipt /certificate of registration (ORCR) of the vehicle and the certification, and also a certification that the driver is the legitimate driver of the unit from the operator if the driver is not the operator.

“Kung siya ang driver/operator makita man didto sa (OR/CR) nga siya ang tag-iya sa sakyanan pero kung dili siya ang operator, mangayo siya og certificate sa tag-iya sa sakyanan nga kadto siya ang legitimate na driver sa iyahang unit (If the person is the driver/operator it will be reflected in the OR/CR but if he is not the operator, the driver must ask a certificate from the owner that he is the legitimate driver of the vehicle),” Abude said.

Set to participate in the seminar are tricycle drivers, taxi drivers, jeepney drivers, passenger vans, and buses for school service unit drivers. The seminar is the next step after the registration of the drivers for PUV IDs.
