Pasko Fiesta 2019 has officially started in Davao City Friday night with the lighting of a giant Christmas tree at the Quezon Park along with sparkling lights across the city.

Dabawenyos were also treated to a magical 3D Christmas show using the facade of the City Hall as the main backdrop — showing the fun and excitement in this year’s theme, Santa’s Toy Factory.

Aside from the Quezon Park, Dabawenyos and Davao visitors will also experience Pasko Fiesta at the Osmena Park and the Sta. Ana Wharf.

Mayor Inday Sara Duterte, who led the opening of the Pasko Fiesta 2019 at the City Hall grounds, enjoined all Dabawenyos to celebrate Christmas and enjoy various activities lined up by the city government.

Mayor Sara hoped this year’s Pasko Fiesta theme will bring a smile on the faces of Dabawenyos, especially the children.

“We also chose this theme to remind ourselves that Christmas is the time for giving and sharing our blessings, especially to those most in need,” she said.

Sara asked Dabawenyos to celebrate Christmas ‘beyond ourselves’ through extending a helping hand to those who are in need.

“In 2016, we started the tradition of not organizing Christmas parties so that whatever we save from the parties, we add the amount to the gifts we distribute to the children and members of other sectors during the gift-giving events, including that of City Hall workers,” she said.

Pasko Fiesta activities include the Sayaw sa Pasko, Torotot Festival, Lamdag Parada, 3D Light Display and many more.

Dabawenyos can also catch Santa and Mrs. Claus in selected areas and dates. CIO
