The Alveo Ironman 70.3 Davao, powered by Petron, has drawn at least 1,7000 triathletes from 48 countries as of Wednesday, March 8.
Alveo Ironman 70.3 Executive Committee co-chairperson Princess Galura on Wednesday, March 8, bared this as preparations for the third staging of the international sporting event on March 26, 2023 shift to high gear.

In the guide, the City Government of Davao welcomes organizers, guests, and participants.
“The Davao City Ironman 70.3 2023 Committee assures that all necessary preparations are being taken for the safety of everyone and the smooth undertaking of the event,” Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte said, thanking the assistance of neighboring cities, the private sector, and volunteers for the overall success of the race.
He also urged Dabwenyos to express their support to the triathletes while wishing all participants goodluck and that they finish strong.
Race director Neville Manois, meanwhile, said they retained the race course while making exciting improvements along the way.
“We have maintained a fast but challenging swim, a single loop flat bike course, and a hot and punishing run course. We have enhanced our operations and support while you race to give you the best race experience possible,” Manois said.
He encouraged all participants to read the Athlete Information Guide and the race briefing for course information.
Manois added, “We are excited to race again, we are excited to see you cross the finish line again.”
Galura also said 12 teams have signed up for the Tribu Maisugon team category as of March 2.
Vying for the P550,000 winner-take-all cash prize are the Bayanihan Tri Team, BJMP Multisport, Core Nutrition, Dashing Iron Team, Filipino Homes- Go for Less, Fit PH, FPD Events, Surcyc Multisports Team, Triad, TriClark Scania Triathlon Team, TriDavSur, and Tri SND Barracuda.
She also said that kit claiming for the Irongirl is from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on March 23 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 24.
The Irongirl will hit the road on March 24 at 5 p.m. Slots to this category were already sold out in 2020, according to Galura.
