Even in its digital form, the 36th Kadayawan Festival proves to be the king of festivals with its view rating, shares, and comments, especially the two-part documentary featuring Davao City’s eleven ethnic tribes.

This year’s digital Kadayawan celebration drew 33,100 views, 1,251 shares, and 421 comments. The two-part documentary “Tribu Kadayawan” featured the eleven tribes’ – Ata, Bagobo K’lata, Matigsalug, Obu Manuvu, Bagobo Tagabawa, Iranun, Kagan, Maguindanaon, Maranao, Sama and Tausug their way of living and cultural practices – food, rituals before harvest, methods of criminal punishment, and many more.

Hosted by no other than “Kulas” (BecomingFilipino) Jennerman, the first part of the documentary aired on August 21 featured the five ethnic tribes, while the second part aired on August 22 featured the six Moro tribes.

A special segment “Mangaon Ta” showed the mouth-watering dishes handed down through generations of the tribal communities.

The Executive Chef of Dusit Thani Chef Alex Destriza and Chef Patrick Co joined the eleven tribes in the two segments.
