In line with Civil Service Month, the City Government of Davao will open this September 1 a sports event in different disciplines for its employees.
Davao City Sports and Development Division Head Michael Denton Aportadera, during the I-Speak
media forum held last week, said that they have planned various activities for the employees to enjoy.
“Mahatagan og chance ang atoang trabahante nga kugihan kaayo mutrabaho to destress themselves (Our hardworking employees are given a chance to destress themselves),” Aportadera said.
The month-long sports fest will kick off with a Fun Run on September 1 at Rizal Park, to be followed by a parade of employees, an opening ceremony, and, an Aeromarathon awarding.
Basketball, cheer dance, dart, bowling, volleyball, chess, badminton, and Larong Pinoy are also scheduled on various dates within the month.
Aportadera said that a skeleton force will be on standby in the city offices so as not to disrupt the regular activities in the city departments.
“We cannot leave the office empty, of course, so skeletal force. For those who will play, they will be given the opportunity for as long as it goes through the HR namo, mag-issue sila that these persons will play on this schedule aron makahibalo and dili pud mapiang ang trabaho sa opisina. (For those who will play, they will be given the opportunity for as long as it goes through our HR, they will issue [notice] that these persons will play on this schedule for information purposes and that work will continue regardless of the activity),” Aportadera said.
