The Office of the Senior Citizen Affairs (OSCA) in Davao City said it has put up five satellite offices to cater to senior citizens.
“We have the Bunawan OSCA Satellite Office, Angliongto Satellite Office, Tugbok Proper OSCA Satellite Office, Matina 74-A Satellite Office, and newly opened, only last September 29, the Satellite Office in Calinan,” Pastor Luis Moran, OSCA head, said in an interview with the Madayaw Davao on the sidelines of OSCA’s 30th Anniversary celebration held at SM Ecoland.
Moran said he was thankful to the City Government of Davao for its support to the OSCA, the City Social Welfare and Development Offices (CSWDO) for giving them office space at the CSWDO building, and other partners that helped their office expand.
Moran said that based on OSCA records, the city has 157,000 senior citizens.
“Daghan kaayong ahensya ang nagatabang sa atoang senior citizens (Many agencies are helping our senior citizens),” Moran said.
To show appreciation to OSCA partners, the highlight of the 30th anniversary celebration was the giving of plaques of appreciation to 27 national and city government offices that supported the office.
The 30th anniversary event was attended by guests and senior citizens, including 14 district presidents of senior citizens.
The CSWDO earlier said that it is through organized groups of senior citizens that the dissemination of announcements on cash incentives and other incentives intended for seniors became easy. CIO
