The Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT) has partnered with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), which is now accepting applications for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) inside the bus terminal on Ecoland Drive.
DCOTT manager Aisa Usop, during the Madayaw Davao program aired over the Davao City Disaster Radio on Tuesday, said the PSA started accepting applications in its mobile registration hub at the bus terminal on Monday.
Usop said Filipino passengers from all over Mindanao and even beyond are encouraged to register.
“Panawagan nato ‘no nga dili lang sa atong porters, peddlers, canvassers, drivers, conductors na wala pa nakapa-national ID, kung dili pati ni atong mga pasahero. Pwede ni sila nga diha magpa-picture, mag-process sa ilang national ID (We are calling upon not just our porters, peddlers, canvassers, drivers, conductors who have yet to apply for a national ID, but also our passengers. They can have their picture taken here, process their national ID),” Usop said.
She said anyone from anywhere may apply for the national ID at the bus terminal, as the identification cards will be sent via courier to the applicants’ mailing address. She said since the entire process does not take too much time, those waiting for their bus to arrive can opt to spend time registering for the PhilSys.
The DCOTT manager added that children as young as 5 years old can also apply for the national ID.
The national ID registration at the Ecoland bus terminal will be available until Saturday, September 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. CIO
