Amid the evolving coronavirus pandemic, the Davao City government continues to provide Dabawenyos with services regularly offered during normal times, especially the social services.
On Monday, September 6, the city government opened its third satellite Lingap Center in Toril District to cater to residents in the said district and surrounding areas. This also decongests the main Lingap Center at the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) of people coming from different areas.
Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Z. Duterte in her weekly program announced that the Lingap Center in Toril is the third satellite office opened in addition to the sites opened in Marilog and Bunawan.
āKadtong tulo ka areas kung unsa inyong makuha na assistance dinhi sa main office sa SPMC compound makuha ang atong tulo kabuok na satellite office for our Lingap, pareho lang na sila same system same list of requirements pareho lang na sila tanan. Dili namo kinahanglan muadto sa main office. (The assistance you get from Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) compound you can also get them in our three satellite offices. They have the same system, they have the same list requirements. You do not have to go to the main office),ā the mayor said.
According to Lingap focal, Vincent Plarisan, as of 3:36 pm on September 6, 2021, a total of six clients have already availed of the services in the Toril satellite Lingap Center.
He said the opening of Lingap is a great help especially for the residents in Toril.
(This is a big help to the residents of Toril because this is a big area and our residents here in Toril district do not need to go to SPMC. They really have a great advantage because they can save up),ā Plarisan said in an interview with CIO.
He added that this is the third satellite that opened this year as Lingap Marilog was opened last May 17, 2021, and Lingap Bunawan opened last July 22, 2021.
Plarisan said the site is expected to serve 50-70 clients per day. Clients are, however, advised to follow health measures such as wearing of face mask, face shield, and should bring required documents before going to the site. CIO
