The Davao City government has given out the P3,000 fuel cash assistance to Public Utility Jeepney (PUJ) and taxi drivers to help them amid a continued fluctuation of the oil prices in the world market.

As of Tuesday, a total of 873 PUJ and taxi drivers in Davao City have availed of the cash assistance given through the City Social Welfare and Development Office under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Office (DSWD). The cash assistance was distributed at the Peopleā€™s Park.

CSWDO Davao Senior Social Work Associate Habib Pagilongon in an interview on the Davao City Disaster Radio Tuesday morning said that the payout was for the first and second batch of drivers they have submitted to the DSWD.

ā€œNaa paā€™y coming na batch, ang kinahanglan lang muadto sa pinaka-duol nga CSWDO District Office and inform the workers nga gusto mo mag-join ani nga program (Another batch is coming. Those who are interested may visit the nearest CSWDO District Office and inform the workers that you want to avail this program,ā€ Pagilongon said.

He added that workers validate through the documents or proof that the drivers submit.

During the payout, the drivers were instructed to bring the original and a photocopy of their Barangay Certificate and valid ID and photocopy with signatures.

Pagilongon said that those who wanted to avail this program may send message through the CSWDO Facebook account, City Social Welfare and Development Office – Davao. CIO
