Davao City has increased the number of participating local offices and agencies for Barangay Serbisyo Caravans, which targets to cater to 130 barangays for the year 2023.

Barangay Service Caravan Team Leader Jimboy Panal, in an interview with the Davao City Disaster Radio on Friday, said that six more local and national agencies are added to the participating offices – four from the city government and two from the national government.

For local offices, the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO), the City Planning and Development Office (CPDO), the City Engineer’s Office (CEO), the Local School Board (LSB), and the Integrated Gender and Development Division (IGDD) will add to the list of agencies that will provide services during the caravans.

For national government offices/agencies, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) will add to the invited offices.

Panal said that in 2022, Barangay Service Caravans covered 72 barangays and catered to 14,394 residents.

“Karong tuiga we are expecting 130 ka mga barangay ang atong bisitahon sugod karong February 14, hangtod karong December 2023 (This year we are expecting to visit 130 barangays starting February 14 until December,” Panal said

The first Barangay Serbisyo Caravan for 2023 will be in Barangay Gumalang, Baguio District.

Participating local offices are the Ancillary Services Unit (ASU), the Barangay Cultural Communities Affairs Divison (BCCAD), the City Agriculturist Office (CAgro), the City Assessor’s Office (CAO), the City Cooperative and Development Office (CCDO), the City Civil Registrar’s Office (CCRO), the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), the City Health Office (CHO), the City Information Office (CIO), the City Legal Office (CLO), the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), the City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO), the City Veterinarian’s Office (CVO), the Educational Benefit System Unit (EBSU), the Office of the Senior Citizen Affairs (OSCA), the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and the City Mayor’s Office (CMO).

Aside from the offices already mentioned, the participating national government agencies are the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), Landbank of the Philippines (LBP), Land Registration Authority (LRA), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), PAG-IBIG, Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHIC), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Philippine National Police (Davao City Police Office), Social Security System, and the Armed Forces of the Philippines/Task Force Davao.

“Amoa gyud nga gina-awhag ang tanang lumulupyo sa atong barangay nga bisitahon na, dili gyud nato sayangon ang atoang higayon nga ang mga ahensya makabisita sa mga barangay. Ato gyud dayon nga i-avail, ang uban libre ang uban dili nata muanhi diri gyud sa siyudad para sa pag process sa atong mga dokumento kung unsa man galing na atong ipang process (We really encourage all the citizens of the barangay to visit and not waste the chance that the agencies will visit the barangays. We should immediately avail of because some of these services are free while some are provided so that they won’t need to go to the city center to process their documents or other things they need to process anymore),” he said.

As to the schedule of barangay caravans, the barangay captains will inform their constituents. CIO
