The City Government of Davao, through the City Health Office (CHO) – Dental Division, celebrates the 19th National Dental Month with the theme: “Ibigin ang bibig! Sa bibig na malusog at alaga, masustansyang pagkain enjoy hanggang pagtanda.”

In line with this month’s celebration, the CHO has slated a set of activities to bolster the campaign for dental health and oral hygiene, especially among young people.

To kick-off the month-long celebration, a motorcade starting at the Sta. Ana Elementary School is slated on February 13 at 9 a.m. The CHO will also be distributing toothbrushes to the elementary school, while its dental bus will be catering dental extraction operations and fluoride application for the pupils.

On February 17, the dental health campaign will reach Tugbok District starting in the Santo Niño Daycare Center. Over 400 daycare pupils in seven daycare centers in the district can avail themselves of booth extraction services, fluoride application and also receive dental hygiene kits.

This will be followed by the San Isidro Daycare Center and four other daycare centers in Bunawan District on February 21.

Eighty-nine youth residents of the Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth (RRCY) in Bago Oshiro can also avail themselves of the same services on February 23.

CHO – Dental Division Officer-in-Charge Dr. Rowena Go, during the I-Speak media forum on Thursday, said that with these activities, the office aims to inculcate good dental habits to small children.

Go also urged citizens to visit the nearest dental clinic in the district health centers. She said citizens can avail simple tooth extractions for only P100, fluoride application, dental consultations and other services in the health centers. CIO
