The Davao City government assured Dabawenyos of continued rice aid under the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) until supply is available.

ā€œTabangan gihapon nato sila until naa pa, until makahatag pa ta og bugas para ma-augment ang ilahang pagkaon diha sa sulod sa ilang mga balay (We will continue helping them as long as we have the resources until we can still give them rice to augment food needs in their homes),ā€ Mayor Inday Sara Duterte assured Dabawenyos on Thursday.

The Davao City government already completed the fourth round of rice distribution to the 182 barangays but it will continue the rice assistance for the duration of the quarantine. The sacks of rice have been delivered through the barangay council and the LGBTQ community.

Areas with a higher population get more sacks of rice. Of the 182 barangays, four (4) barangays received 30 sacks of rice; five (5) received 25 sacks; 13 received 20 sacks; 78 received 15 sacks and 82 barangays received 10 sacks fo rice.

Meanwhile, the LGBTQ community volunteers already covered 81.87% (149 barangays) in their rice distribution. A total of 38,850 rice packs have been served.

The mayor said the current round of rice distribution has been reduced compared with the previous distribution under the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) because many Dabawenyos have already resumed working.

ā€œGi-reduce nato because GCQ na man. So dunay uban sa atoa nga namalik na sa trabaho, therefore they can expect nga aduna silaā€™y sweldo (We have reduced the number because we are already in GCQ. If some of you already resumed working we expect you will be receiving salaries),ā€ Mayor Sara said.

The city government will give priority to those still out of work. CIO
