The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) said it targets 170,000 senior citizens, including 60-year-olds, for the P1,500 payout initially available only for 65-year-olds and above.
CSWDO Finance Section Head Julieta Vigil told the Davao City Disaster Radio on Monday, that the senior citizens included in the master list have undergone validation.
“Niagi gyud sila og validation. Ang area coordinators gipicturan sila og gisulod gyud sila sa system. Ang objective gyud sa atong mayor nga ibutang na gyud tanan sa system para dali lang ta makabalo pila ang hataganan (They have undergone validation. The area coordinators took pictures of them and encoded them into the system. The main objective of our mayor is to place the names of the seniors in the system so that the number of beneficiaries will be determined),” Vigil said,
She said that the area coordinators conducted house-to-house and captured the photos of the senior citizens with their OSCA IDs.
She emphasized that senior citizen organizations help inform the senior citizens about the schedule.
Senior Citizen, Voter’s ID, and membership in a senior-citizen organization are among the requirements.
Vigil said that the voter’s ID is required to ascertain the residency of the beneficiary, if they are indeed from Davao City, as the annual subsidy is intended for Dabawenyos only.
“Para ni sa atoang tabang sa ilaha, sa ilahang medisina, ug uban pang panginahanglan, gamay lang ni nga kantidad pero makatabang ni sa ilahang maintenance, pangpalit nila og gatas ug uban pa (This is our help for their medicines and other needs, this is just a small amount but it can help them to buy maintenance, milk, and others),” Vigil said.
She said that payouts are conducted in the barangay gyms. Bedridden senior citizens may authorize their nearest kin to claim their annual subsidy. Signed or thumbmarked Authorization Letter, OSCA ID of the senior citizen and photocopy, government-issued ID, and the photocopied ID of the person authorized.
The senior citizens may find out if their names are on the master list and the payout schedule through the CSWDO district offices, barangay social workers, or senior citizen organizations.
The payout for the senior citizens started on November 9.
Interested senior citizens may also receive updates on the payout schedule through the City Social Welfare and Development Office’s Official Facebook Page. CIO
