The Davao City Public Safety and Security Command (PSSCC) has put in place the security measures at San Pedro Square – a declared maximum security zone in Davao City and the center of activities of Pasko Fiesta.

Angel Sumagaysay, the head of PSSCC, said the implementation of the maximum security in San Pedro Square is to ensure the safety of the general public joining in the various Pasko Fiesta activities.

Sumagaysay has asked the cooperation of the public for smooth implementation of the security measures.

“We will apply the maximum-security measures for the vicinity of city hall and SP (Sangguniang Panlungsod) building primarily because of the various activities every night,” he said.

Sumagaysay said that part of the measures is the designation of parking areas for the public in the vicinity of City Hall and SP.

Recall that under the maximum-security zone, no vehicles will be allowed to park around the area after 5 p.m. while motorcycles’ designated parking space is at the back of the City hall, Osmeña Park and SP building.

“Everything will be the same, it just that there will be more presence of security forces in the area to check the situation for any eventualities,” he said.

He said there is augmentation from Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 to ensure that all areas will be covered for security reasons. CIO
