Overseas Filipino Workers’ desks aimed at catering to the concerns of OFWs and soon-to-be OFWs are now open in all police stations in Davao City, an official said.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) Spokesperson PMaj. Catherine Dela Rey, in an interview over Davao City Disaster Radio on Monday, January 30, 2023, said that the OFW desks were launched last week.

ā€œKung naay mga concerns, pwede namo muadto sa nearest police station, mu-coordinate mi sa Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) ( If you have concerns, you can go to your nearest police station, we will coordinate with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration),ā€ she said.

Dela Rey said that this is an advantage to Dabawenyos living outside the city centers where services to OFW are primarily located. The said initiative is also being implemented nationwide so even police stations in other areas provide the same service.

ā€œDali ang pagtagad kay partnership mani siya between office and agencies. (Concerns are much easier to address because this is a partnership between the office and other agencies),ā€ she said.

Dela Rey added that national government offices such as OWWA and the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) assigned dedicated personnel to answer inquiries and concerns relayed by the police stations.

Aside from the OFW desks, Davao City also currently has a referral office for the OFW Familiesā€™ Welfare and Crisis Center in Davao City with contact no. 0999 994 3577 or ofwcenter.davaocity@gmail.com CIO
