The newly-turned over motorcycles to the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) will be used in running after drunk drivers, who usually cause accidents, Mayor Inday Sara Duterte said.

Mayor Inday said with the new motorcycles, she has expected the strict implementation of the anti-drunk driving law in the city.

“The 12 motorcycles will be going to the Traffic Group under the DCPO, they already have a coordination with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) on how to use the breathe analyzer, so they will go after those who will violate the anti-drunk driving law,” she said.

Mayor Inday said the city government will monitor how the law is being implemented and will assess if there is a need to purchase more breathalyzers.

“For now, we already have a breathalyzer from LTO. Initially, we planned to purchase some but the LTO told us that they have several breathalyzers, but we will see if we need to purchase more,” she said.

On Monday, Mayor Inday led the turn over of 20 650 cc Kawasaki Versys motorcycles to the DCPO and the Task Force Davao for mobility of security and law enforcement forces. CIO
