CSWDO teams up with authorities vs. scammer using Kean Gabriel Hotline to ask for money

The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) on Monday reported that they already filed a blotter against the person behind the scam using the Kean Gabriel Hotline and reported it to the Anti-Scam Division of the Philippine National Police.

CSWDO Head Julie Dayaday said they discovered the scam from a message on their Facebook page.

“Naay nag-message sa amoa nga adunay naggamit sa atoang Kean Gabriel Hotline nga 0909-818-4444 sa pagpangayo og donasyon or for whatever purpose pero kana siya nagpahibalo gyud ta nga wala’y ginapangayo ang Kean Gabriel Hotline nga donasyon (Someone messaged us that a person is using the Kean Gabriel Hotline 0909-818-4444 to ask for a donation and for whatever purpose. But we just want to let you know that Kean Gabriel Hotline does not ask for donations),” Dayaday said.

She said that their office posted a warning on their Facebook Page as a move for public awareness.

Dayaday said that their office is thankful for those who reported the person behind the incident, whom she identified to be from Bacolod, and not a resident here in Davao.

“Warning gyud ni nga dili ta magbasta-basta og share [money] sa Gcash or any platform nga wala gyud ta kabalo ug wala nato na validate (This serves as a warning that we should not share money to GCash or any platform to persons whom we do not know and we are not able to validate),” Dayaday said.
