The City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) posted an invitation for participants to this year’s RondalSayaw Competition.
Mr. Wadab Babao, the event organizer of RondalSayaw, told the Madayaw Program over the city-owned Davao City Disaster Radio (DCDR) on Wednesday that the competition is open, not only to groups from the city but also to those from other areas.
“Sa tanan nato nga mga kaigsuonan, sa mga tanan nga Dabawenyo, mga tanan nga Filipino, katong mga taga-Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, kung gusto mo musalmot, muapil sa atoang RondalSayaw sa Pasko Fiesta 2023, a Rondalla and Dance competition, we are inviting you to submit your entries (To everyone who wish to participate in the Pasko Fiesta 2023’s Rondal Sayaw, a Rondalla and Dance Competition, we are inviting you to submit your entries),” he said.
RondalSayaw is one of the official events lined up for the Pasko Fiesta celebration of the city. The competition is divided into three (3) phases with phase 1 being the performances of the top 10 Rondalla groups; the second phase for the Sayaw sa Pasko; and the third phase being a combination of both Rondalla and Sayaw performances.
Babao also said that winners of the Rondalla performances and the Sayaw performances will be receiving cash prizes. There will also be consolation prizes worth Php 15,000 for each Sayaw team and Php 20,000 for each Rondalla group.
The Rondalla ensembles must be composed of a minimum of 10 members and a maximum of 20, and one (1) conductor. Meanwhile, Sayaw teams must have at least 3 pairs and a maximum of 5 pairs.
The competition will be held at the Rizal Park on December 23, 6:00 pm.
Interested groups may send an email with their registration forms and audition videos on or before December 1, 2023.
