Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte promised to give rewards to a cluster, which will have the lowest number of positive cases after May 31.
Speaking over the city government-operated Davao City Disaster Radio, Mayor Inday said that the winning cluster will receive 10,000 Jollibee chickenjoys and 10,000 bottles of one-liter Coke.
“Mag tinabangay mo, kamo mismo taga cluster ninyo, bantayi ninyo nga dili mag sige’g gawas gawas kay pag abot sa May 31, ang pinakagamay og cases per cluster makadawat og 10,000 ka chickenjoy ug coke,” she said.
Davao City had been divided into 6 clusters as the city government intensified its campaign against the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) because of the growing number of confirmed cases.
As of Wednesday (April 22), there are already 99 confirmed cases in the city since the outbreak started. The number of recoveries was at 48 while 16 other patients had died fighting the effects of the virus.
Among the clusters, Cluster 1 (Poblacion A and B and Talomo District) has the most number of confirmed cases at 43, followed by Cluster 3 (Buhangin District) with 23.
Cluster 2, made up of the barangays of Agdao District; and Cluster 4 (Toril District) have six cases each; Cluster 5, composed of Calinan, Baguio, Marilog, Tugbok and some barangays of Paquibato; and Cluster 6 (Bunawan, some barangays of Paquibato and the Island Garden City of Samal) have three cases each.
