Another sweeper flight commissioned by the Davao City government on Wednesday brought home 270 more residents stranded in Luzon for over a month already.
Mayor Inday Sara Duterte said over the city-operated Davao City Disaster Radio that the sweeper flight carried mostly Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who were returning to Davao City when the Luzon Enhanced Community Quarantine was implemented.
This was the second sweeper flight the city government had commissioned to bring home Dabawenyos stranded in Luzon.
On Monday, 150 individuals also returned to Mindanao via Davao City from Clark. Only 120 of them were residents of the city.
All the repatriated residents and other individuals have undergone rapid tests as part of the procedure and that they are also now under a 14-day quarantine.
Mayor Inday said she was hoping that on Wednesday, the sweeper flight had carried more people.
āDapat mas daghan pa ang naka sakay ato, but I donāt know what happened 270 lang ang nisakay sa eroplano,ā she added.
The sweeper flight also carried 400 individuals stranded in the city back to Metro Manila. CIO
