Mayor Inday Sara Duterte assured the public that the city government is not withholding any information, including vital Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) updates.
This, after messages circulated online about alleged cases of Covid-19 in the city, which have not been included in the daily updates.
Speaking over the city-owned Davao City Disaster Radio, Mayor Inday reminded the public not to believe in rumors and wait for the official announcement of the city government or the Department of Health.
“These are things nga dili gina tago-tago, dili kinahanglan nga surreptitious ang pagpasa pasa sa information nga mura bag it’s a highly confidential nga information,” the mayor said.
She said that the city government is very open and does not intend to hide any information since the public has the right to be informed on the updates regarding the Covid-19.
“Ang City Government will not do that to Dabawenyos because important sa atoa nga nahibalo ang mga tao sa information, timely ug accurate nga information so that ang mga taga Davao pud they can properly respond and plan kung unsa ang ilang mga lihok,” Mayor Inday said.
“The fact nga gina pasa pasa siya nga murag ‘ayaw’g saba’, sa ing-ana pa lang na tono klaro na kaayo nga dili siya tinuod,” Mayor Inday said, referring to messages circulating online alleging that some areas and people in the city are infected with the virus.
Mayor Inday said that the public should never believe information that came from unverified sources. CIO
