The Davao City government will facilitate the return of stranded individuals to their respective towns, cities, and provinces if they are allowed entry by their local governments.

Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte made the assurance during her interview over the Davao City Disaster Radio on Saturday, reminding them to make sure they are allowed to enter their respective places.

“Wala mi problema nga mugawas mo og Davao City. We can assist you nga mugawas og Davao City but please make sure nga dawaton mo didto sa lugar na paulian ninyo (We have no problem if you go outside Davao City. We can assist you but please make sure that you are allowed to enter the areas where you are returning home),” she said.

She further assured individuals stranded in Davao City they will be given the contact details where to seek assistance for their return. The contact details will be available by Sunday, April 26, 2020, or Monday, April 27, 2020.

Meanwhile, Dabawenyos who are stranded outside the region cannot be assisted to enter the city yet because the national government has only opened airports and seaports for the movement of goods only.

She said the city government initially prepared teams and a system to help stranded Dabawenyos outside the region to return home to Davao City.

This plan has to be set aside after the national government put Davao City and several other cities and provinces under an extended Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).

Mayor Sara emphasized the need to comply with the national government’s guidelines. CIO
