The Davao City government will be in full operation but employees will work on shifting schedule if the city shifts to the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) after May 15.
Mayor Inday Sara Duterte emphasized the need to work on shifting schedule to make sure that physical distancing in the offices is followed.
“The City Government of Davao will be on full operational capacity, but on a shifting work schedule. So dili mag abot tanan sa office (So we are not in the office at the same time),” Mayor Inday said.
The mayor added that city hall employees will follow the M-W-F (Monday-Wednesday-Friday), T-Th-F (Tuesday-Thursday-Friday), and T-W-Th (Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday) schedule in reporting to office physically.
She also urged private companies that will be allowed to operate during GCQ to practice the same scheme.
“Naa pud dapat floor plan para sa social distancing, agianan sa hallways, ug floor plan para sa clients ug customers para dili pud sila mag dikit, dili pud sila mag gubot sa atong mga employees (we should have a floor plan for social distancing, footpaths in hallways, and floor plan for clients and customers for social distancing),” she said.
Mayor Inday said the city government is abiding with the Civil Service Memorandum Circular No. 10 s. 2020 or the Revised Interim Guidelines for Alternative Work Arrangement and Support Mechanisms for Workers in the Government During the Period of State of National Emergency Due to COVID-19 Pandemic.
City government departments and offices whose functions require physical dealing with clients are to establish a system to prevent spread of infection like providing alcohol or hand sanitizers in prominent places in the office, arrangement of seats for client use at least one meter apart, floor markings and the like.
Documents from the public will still be received and released at the Davao City Recreation Center from Monday to Friday at 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Moving from Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) to GCQ after May 15, 2020 is expected after the National Inter-Agency Task Force issued IATF Resolution No. 35 recommended Davao City and other provinces, municipalities, and cities to be placed under GCQ until May 31.
Mayor Inday said Davao City will adhere to the recommendation of the IATF although a shift to GCQ is still subject for review on May 14. CIO
