Davao City’s Business Bureau has received a Blue Certification Level 2 Award from the Office of the Ombudsman for compliance to the standard on ease of doing business in the city.
Business Bureau Chief, Lawyer Marissa Torentera, said the city’s Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) complied 71 or 81 percent of the 87 standards of the Office of the Ombudsman.
Such high compliance earned for the city the 2nd level of the award which was given during Monday’s flag-raising ceremony.
“Kani siya, garbo pud ni siya and in fact, we appreciate nga narecognize pud sa Ombudsman ang every effort sa atong City. Kay dili man pud gud tanan local government unit (LGU) maawardan aning Blue Certificate (This is an honor for the city. We appreciate that the Ombudsman recognized our efforts. Not every LGU gets the Blue Certificate),” Torentera said.
Among the factors that the Ombudsman considered are the entire BPLO system if these are IT-enabled, customer-convenient, anti-fixing mechanism, the good appearance of the business permit, and continuous improvement.
Meanwhile, Torentera bared that the Business Bureau already received a total of 28,850 business applications since the start of the renewal period on January 2. Of the total number, 7,621 had been issued permits. CIO
