City Planning and Development Coordinator in an interview Monday said that they are expecting the publication of the City Land Use Plan within this week in a local newspaper and such publication will be available in conspicuous areas as part of the publication requirement of the ordinance’s effectivity.
“We are expecting the publication by this week, hopefully tomorrow Tuesday. After we get hold of the copy of the publication we will have this displayed at the entrance of the City Hall and the Sangguniang Panlungsod because it is part of the effectivity clause of the ordinance, that it must be available to the public and displayed in two conspicuous places,” said City Planning and Development Coordinator Engr. Ivan C. Cortez, in an interview with the City Information Office on Monday.
Cortez added that on the tenth day of the display of the published copy of the CLUP, all of the amendments under the CLUP and the zoning ordinance will become effective.
Cortez said that he is inviting the general public, especially those with landholdings and those who are interested in conducting business in Davao City, to get hold
of a copy.
“We are inviting the general public to get hold, especially those with landholdings, and those with interests in terms of conducting a business activity in Davao City to get hold of a copy of CLUP by tomorrow, Tuesday. We are hoping that you also get guidance from the City Planning Office for the needed clarifications on your future business or your future activities in your landholding,” Cortez added.
The City Land Use Plan, enforced through a Zoning Ordinance, shall be the primary and dominant bases for the future use of land resources by the local government.
The creation of CLUP is based on Section 20 (c) of RA 7160 otherwise known as “The Local Government Code of 1991’, as amended, which provides Local Government Units (LGUs) shall prepare their respective CLUPs, enforced through a Zoning Ordinance. CIO
