The City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) headed by Mr. Erwin P. Alparaque facilitated the safekeeping and retrieval of official ballots and sorting of election supplies for the local and national elections last May 13, 2019.
Days prior to election day, CTO employees initiated a series of preparation activities for the 2019 elections which included the safekeeping of official ballots, sorting of election supplies and paraphernalia, distribution of election supplies to polling stations, and retrieval of ballots.
CTO is mandated to take custody of all election forms, ballot boxes, paraphernalia, and supplies entrusted to them, as stated in the Commission on Elections Omnibus Code.
The City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) headed by Mr. Erwin P. Alparaque received the official ballots which were turned over by the Commission on Elections at the CTO – Sangguniang Panlungsod Building. CTO took charge of safekeeping all the ballots before they were delivered to the polling stations before the election day.
Aside from safekeeping the official ballots for the 2019 local and national elections, the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) also took part in the verification of all the ballots which were conducted by the Commission on Elections along with other stakeholders in the city.
Before the election day, employees from the City Treasurer’s Office facilitated the sorting of election supplies and paraphernalia to be used during the election proper. All sorted supplies were then distributed to polling stations within the three congressional districts of Davao City.
Right after the election day on May 13, 2019, the City Treasurer’s Office then spearheaded the retrieval of official ballots to be turned over to the Commission on Elections.
