Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte warned Dabawenyos of more coronavirus cases as the city has eased the restrictive measures under the General Community Quarantine (ECQ).
“I-expect ninyo sa GCQ, mosaka gihapon ni and modaghan gihapon ang atoang mga positive cases because, why? Naa gihapon ang sakit sa gawas (Expect that coronavirus cases will continue to rise amid the GCQ. Positive cases will still increase because the virus still out there),” she said over the Davao City Disaster Radio on Tuesday.
The mayor said the number of coronavirus-related cases in the city as of May 19, 2020, now stands at 177.
Of the total number, 132 are admitted at the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC); six (6) at Center A; one (1) at Center B; four (4) at Center C; and, 34 at Center D.
Mayor Inday said 87 of admitted patients are confirmed positive of the disease.
Given this, Mayor Inday reiterated calls to stay at home and stay safe and healthy.
“Kung wala ta’y rason nga mogawas og balay, dili ta manggawas sa atoang mga balay (If you have no reason to go out of your house, do not go out),” she urged.
Mayor Inday added that those allowed to go out are for essential purposes – buy food, medicines, visit the doctor, and report to work. CIO
