Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte has renewed her call for Dabawenyos to follow the four minimum health measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease after one patient contracted the virus during a wedding party.
Mayor Sara emphasized the importance of practicing the health protocols for their and other people’s safety, especially medical frontliners.
The mayor added that the health workers put their lives on the line, while other people still refuse to follow simple health protocols.
“Every time nga dili ta mosunod sa (that we do not follow) the health protocols set by the doctors, we kill someone. Every time you violate the health protocol, you kill a person,” she said in an interview over the Davao City Disaster Radio.
Mayor Sara further reminded Dabawenyos of the four simple health protocols – Stay Home, Wear Masks, Practice Social Distancing, and Frequent Handwashing with soap and water.
She urged Dabawenyos to strictly follow these health protocols against Covid-19 as these not only protect themselves but also other people.
Currently, the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC), the main hospital in Davao City catering to Covid-19 patients, has recorded 131 COVID-19-infected workers as of August 6. Of the 131, three (3) have died. CIO
