Teams from the Davao City Health Office (CHO) have started disinfecting public parks, terminals, ports, and all city government offices to prevent further spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) infection.
The disinfection operation will be conducted every week or every two weeks until Covid-19 stabilizes. The next disinfection will be in other government and district offices.
City Health Office (CHO) chief Dr. Josephine Villafuerte said the disinfection of public places because these are most frequented by people.
âWe have to make sure nga na-disinfect siya kay para kung kinsa maây naaây sakit, kung kinsa ba naaây viral infection, dili pud siya matakod sa lain. So we want to make the environment safe for the children and the community (We make sure that these places are disinfected so that whoever is sick or has viral infection will not infect others. We have to make sure that the environment is safe for the children and the community),â Villafuerte added.
The private sector is also encouraged to practice these preventive measures, especially those areas that are usually flocked by people.
Villafuerte assured that the disinfectant chemicals are not harmful to the human body.
She also urged the public to follow the safety precautions and health advisories.
