The Davao City government has installed a new thermal scanner at the Task Force (TF) Davao checkpoint in Lasang/Licanan for the efficient health screening procedure of all travellers entering the city.
TF Davao Commander Consolito Yecla said that the newly-installed scanner will measure temperature of inbound travelers and minimize body contact between TF Davao personnel and the people.
āThis is to ensure that the implementation of our strict health protocols are fast and effective,ā he said.
TF Davao will also soon equip Sirawan, Toril and Lacson in Calinan entry points with thermal scanners for a rapid and safe preliminary screening of travellers.
The thermal scanner donated by Davao City First District Representative Paolo Duterte, is equipped inside the repurposed container van with the x-ray baggage machine and walkthrough metal detector.
Meanwhile, Yecla urged people not to travel if they are sick and only go in and out of the city when necessary.
āFor Dabawenyos who are traveling, while our scanners are effective in detecting individuals with symptoms, they should be responsible and if they experience symptoms, better to just stay at home,ā Yecla said. CIO
