Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte has urged Dabawenyos anew to make four simple ways a daily habit to keep the city’s economy open and for everyone’s safety.

The four simple ways are staying at home, wearing face masks, maintaining a two-meter distance from other people, and frequent handwashing.

These are simple but big contributions from citizens to keep the city and its economy alive amidst the pandemic, said Mayor Sara.

“Ang atoang gusto buhaton, kitang tanan, is open our city and make sure nga abli atoang siyudad—abli ang atoang mga opisina, ang atoang mga establishments despite nga dunay pandemic nga nagapanghitabo sa tibuok kalibutan (What we want to do, all of us, is open our city and make sure that it remains open—our offices, establishments, despite the pandemic that is happening globally),” she said.

The mayor added that if people are practicing the four simple ways to prevent Covid-19, the city can prevent reverting to Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) wherein there are lesser establishments open and more people will not have income due to closure of establishments.

The city government will also continue monitoring the compliance of offices and establishments in imposing the minimum health protocols such as temperature check, symptom screening, establishing a handwashing facility, providing hand sanitizing hand rubs and footbath and social distancing while inside the establishment to make sure that the spread of the deadly disease is controlled.
