The Davao City Health Office (CHO) was conferred the Outstanding City Population-wide Implementation of Health Promotions Programs award during the Department of Health’s Harmonized Health Awards 2023 at the Apo View Hotel on November 22.

The Harmonized Health Awards ceremony was attended by Health Undersecretary Dr. Abdullah Dumama Jr., DOH-DCHD Regional Director Dr. Annabelle Yumang, representatives from local health offices in Davao Region, local executives, private medical institutions and healthcare practitioners.

Aside from the CHO’s performance awards, the DOH also conferred 15 District Health Centers in the city with the Electronic Logistics Management Information System Go-Liver User Award, while the city-run Bunawan Lying-in and Buhangin Health Center Birthing Home were recognized as among the top performing newborn screening facilities in the region.

The District Health Offices of Baguio, Marilog, Paquibato, Toril A, District Health Office A, and District Health Office C were acknowledged for their excellent performance during the month-long national Measles-Rubella and Bivalent Oral Polio Vaccine Supplemental Immunization Activity campaign.

The winners were awarded with plaques of recognition as well as cash incentives for their excellent service.

CHO Officer-in-Charge Dr. Tomas Miguel Ababon led the awardees in receiving the recognition for Davao City’s health sector.

The DOH also recognized the Davao City Disaster Radio of the City Information as one of their Health Promotion Champions.
