Proving her commitment to supporting the education sector, Mayor Inday Sara Duterte has handed over a four-classroom school building at Tapak National High School Extension Campus of Panaga NHS in Tapak, Paquibato District.
Mayor Sara led the inauguration of the school building which provides more learning spaces for around 200 high school pupils in Tapak, Paquibato. Tapak is the cityâs farthest village and home to most Indigenous Peoples, the Ata tribe.
Sara said the city governmentâs continued support to the education sector is centered on the importance of education for children in achieving a brighter future.
âKinahanglan ta maningkamot nga mahuman ta og senior high school, mahuman ta og college, aron maka-trabaho, aron maka-kwarta para mapalit nato atoang gusto (We must try hard for finish senior high school and college to have a decent job, earn a living, and buy the things we want), she told the students that attended the event.
This makes education very essential because, without it, we cannot find a decent job in the future, she stressed.
Raymon Abanto, the School Head of the Tapak National High School, said the new building is a great help since the school has only three classrooms and two makeshift classrooms in the campus to cater to almost 200 pupils from grades 7-12.
He said some pupils even hold classes under the trees. The reason why, he said, the community is very thankful to the local school board and Mayor Inday Sara for the project.
He added that the new building would inspire and motivate the children to report to classes and study.
âDako jud kaayong tabang sa mga estudyante kay ma-motivate pud atong mga estudyante sa pag skwela kay naa silaây nindot ug kanang world class, nakaingon koâg world class ang atoang building na gihatag sa city mayorâs (This is a big help in motivating the students to study because they now have a world-class building. I can really say that the building from the City Mayorâs Office is world-class),â he said.
Aside from the new school building, the Tapak National High School main campus has an on-going construction of a one-story, four-classroom school facility. CIO
