Davao City Economic Enterprises (CEE) Head Mr. Maximo Macalipes, in an interview over the Davao City Disaster Radio, said that they have developed an electronic stall management system, together with the City Information and Technology Center, for easy issuance of order of payment and allows a system-generated text blast for lease payment reminders.

ā€œKaning e-stall management system, system ni namo sa public market para ma-isyuhan na namo sila diretso og order of payment nga naka-link pud diretso sa may atong treasurerā€™s office. (This e-stall management system is a system for public market and is used for the issuance of an order of payment, which is directly linked to the City Treasurersā€™ Office),ā€ Macalipes said.

The system contains the details of the owner of a stall, the area occupied, and the corresponding rate. It also provides a link for the order of payment number that will be presented to the City Treasurerā€™s Office for easy access to their balance and also for payment.

Macalipes added that through the system, they can do away with the manual recording of payment and provides an easy generation of reports for order of payment reports.

“Helpful siya kay mahibaw-an namo if nakabayad na atong vendors on time and maka-generate man pud ta og mga report (It is very helpful because it lets us know if the vendors have paid on time and we can also generate reports),ā€ he said, adding that the system generated reports saves them time.

A text blast sent every 20th of the month to remind vendors of their obligations is also part of the system’s function.

Macalipes said that the e-stall management system is already being used at the Agdao, Toril, and Mintal public markets. For Calinan they are still updating the profiling of the awardees to ensure that verified information will be encoded into the system. They are also waiting for the final list of awardees from the Bankerohan Public Market.

He said that hopefully, the system will cover all markets soon. CIO
