The Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) has not received reports of damages after the 6.2 magnitude earthquake that hit Davao Region including  Davao City on Tuesday morning.

CDRRMO head Alfredo Baloran in a message to CIO said that his office did not receive reports of major damages after the earthquake. However, the CDRRMO will continue to monitor and advised residents and building owners to check their houses and buildings for cracks. In the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) assessment, Intensity III was felt in Davao City. The Phivolcs Earthquake Intensity Scale (PEIS) defined Intensity III as “felt by people indoors, especially on upper floors of buildings”.

The epicenter of the earthquake, which occurred at 9:23 in the morning, was found 7.09°North, 127.04°East- 057 km South 77° East of Manay, Davao Oriental.

Intensity IV or “moderately strong” tremor was felt in Manay Tarragona, and Lupon, Davao Oriental; Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur; Mati City; and Bislig City.

Other areas which felt the Intensity III “weak” tremor are Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental; Cateel and Baganga, Davao Oriental; and Tandag City, Surigao Del Sur.

Meanwhile, Intensity II “slightly felt” tremor was felt in Bansalan, Davao del Sur, and Intensity I was felt in Matalam, Cotabato. CIO
