Davao City sends Ilocanos financial aid

The City Government of Davao will extend assistance worth P1million to the Province of Ilocos Norte, which was heavily affected by Typhoon Ineng.

Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) Operations and Warning head Rodrigo Bustillo said that the it has been Davao City Government’s government’s practice to extend assistance to other areas affected by any form of calamity.

“It has been an advocacy of the City Government of Davao to help other places that were affected by disasters. Since Ilocos Norte was affected by Typhoon Ineng, we extended financial aid to them,” he said.

The financial assistance was approved by the members of the City Council Thursday.

The P1million will be given to the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte to help it address the needs of its people.

“It will depend on the Provincial Government how it is going to use the P1 million because it is the one who knows its peoples’ needs,” Bustillos said.
