The City Government of Davao extended financial assistance to the victims of the January fire in Daliao, Toril.

The distribution of the assistance was done on Friday, January 18.

Myrna Dadang, City Social Services and Development Office (CSSDO) Toril District head, said that the city government gave a total of P417,000 to the victims of the fire.

The fire happened on January 8 around 12:45 p.m. at Purok San Jose, Waling-waling St., Daliao, Toril and displaced a total of 39 families and 31 other individuals, who are renters in the area.

“The affected families received P10,000, while P5,000 for the sharers and P2,000 each for individual boarders,” Dadang said.

Daliao Barangay Captain Rodolfo Te expressed his gratitude to the city government for helping his constituents.

“We are very grateful for the cash assistance from the city as this would help them in their everyday needs as they start building their homes again,” said Te.

Two persons were injured and almost 70 houses were destroyed in the fire.
