he City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office spearheaded a 4-day Public Service Continuity Planning Workshop on April 17-20 at the Royal Mandaya Hotel.
âThe importance of the Public Safety Continuity Plan is mao na siya ang atong guide man gud if in case na naay disruptions sa atong mga services just like naay mga calamities, mga disasters nga mahitabo nga ma cut ang government service because naapektuhan ang atong mga buildings (The importance of the Public Safety Continuity Plan is that it will be our guide in case there are disruptions in our services in case calamities and disasters would cut our government services and would affect our buildings),â CDRRMO Officer-In-Charge Alfredo Baloran said.
He said that involved in the 4-day workshop facilitated by the Office of the Civil Defense XI are 24 offices considered prime movers of the city government and national offices that are members of the Disaster Council.
The offices involved in the workshop are the City Mayorâs Office, Sangguniang Panlungsod, City Information and Technology Center (CITC), Human Resource and Management Office, CDRRMO, City Councilorâs Luna Acosta and Diosdado Mahipus Jr., City Health Office, City Budget Office, City Accountantâs Office, City Social Welfare and Development Office, City Environment and Natural Resources Office, City Transport and Traffic Management Office, City Engineerâs Office, City Agriculturist Office, City Veterinarianâs Office, City Planning and Development Office, City Archives and Records Office, Public Safety and Security Command Office, City-Department of the Interior and Local Government, Task Force Davao, Davao City Police Office. PCG Davao Station, Davao Light and Davao City Water District.
Baloran said that the finalized draft of the plan will be returned to the respective offices/departments for review. The outputs will be sent to CDRRMO for finalization before forwarding them to the Office of Civil Defense for critiquing and comments.
Once finalized the PSCP shall be presented to the DRRMC for approval and endorsement to the Sangguniang Panlungsod for adoption and approval. CIO
