The Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office-Operation Center (CDRRMO-OPCEN) advised the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils (BDRRMCs), volunteer groups, and response clusters to closely monitor their area of responsibility, check their landslide-prone areas, lifeline structures, and take immediate actions amid possible aftershocks related to last week’s earthquake.
On October 4, 2023, at 7:01 pm, the city experienced a jolt with an intensity level of III.
According to the CDRRMO’s report, no major incidents or affected residents or communities have been recorded after the earthquake.
However, the office recorded a total of 18 school buildings and three other infrastructures that sustained minor cracks, while 13 individuals reportedly difficulty in breathing and dizziness.
The reported damages in the school buildings were coordinated with the City Engineer’s Office (CEO) for the assessment of the structural integrity of the affected structures.
The CEO has yet to release an update regarding the result of the assessment. CIO
