In celebration of the 122nd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, the Civil Service Commission (CSC), in partnership with the City Government of Davao and 17 other national agencies, on Monday opened the first Government Service Fair at the SM Ecoland Annex.
Participating agencies include the Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Internal Revenue, National Bureau of Investigation, Philippine National Police, Department of Agriculture, Philippine Coconut Authority, Department of Health, Pag-Ibig, PhilHealth, Philippine Postal Corporation and National Housing Authority.
Also participating are the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Public Works and Highways, Land Transportation Office, Philippine Regulation Commission, and the Government Service Insurance System.
The fair’s opening was joined in by CSC Commissioner Aileen Lourdes Lizada, CSC Region XI Director IV Cyril-Nathan Eamiguel, CSC Davao City Field Office Director II Marilyn Dujali, Councilor Diosdado Angelo Mahipos and representatives from the participating agencies.
Aside from the publication of employment opportunities in various public offices, the five-day fair also offers frontline services such as employment and legal consultation, ID and clearances application, social programs registration, vaccination and others.
Lizada said the fair is not only the first of its kind in the region but in the entire nation. She said this is being conducted with “a thematic focus on resilience” in order “to provide the services directly to the public.”
“With varied concerns that our clients face in transacting with different government offices, we find that it would be more meaningful to put together a one-stop-shop where majority of the government agencies with whom our clients usually transact are made available in one place,” Lizada added.
The commissioner added that the fair will be an annual event and that the same will be replicated in other regions in the future to strengthen the delivery of government program nationwide.
The Government Service Fair will be at the SM Ecoland Annex from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. until September 23. CIO
