All business establishments in Davao City are also mandated to scan the Safe Davao QR Codes of the children ages 0 to 11 years old once they are allowed to go out, an official said.

In an interview with the Davao City Disaster Radio on Wednesday, Covid-19 Task Force Spokesperson Dr. Michelle Schlosser said that the scanning of DQR has been mandatory in the city and also covers children 0-11 age group.

“Definitely when the children are allowed to go out, they will definitely need DQR,” said Schlosser, adding, “Dugay naman mandatory ang DQR that is the reason why we have an executive order that mandates to have DQR. Before kasi wala lang nakuhaan ang mga bata because during those times nga nagkaroon ta og surge dili man allowed mugawas ang bata, therefore, it was not necessary to get the DQR code. But sa atoang executive order mandatory na gyud nga magkaroon og DQR ang tanan (The DQR has been made mandatory that is why we have the executive order
that mandates to have DQR. It was not necessary to get DQR for children because those times when we had a surge the children were not allowed to go outside, therefore, it was not necessary to get the DQR code. But in our executive order it is mandatory for all to have DQR),” Schlosser said.

She added that even those infants can have DQR and they can be registered by their parents.

Schlosser added that the city is eyeing the continued use of DQR even when the surge will be over because it is really helpful for contact tracing. CIO
