A total of 470 honorary consuls, staff of consular offices, and foreign workers under affiliate companies based in Davao City will get their second dose of the anti-Covid-19 vaccines at the Almendras Gym tomorrow, September 24, 2020.

They are among those who availed the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccines on August 19-20 at the Davao City Investment and Promotion Center (DCIPC). Davao City has 16 consular offices.

Their family members also availed of the vaccines in the second batch on September 17, 2021, and will get their second dose of Sinovac vaccine on October 12, 2021.

DCIPC chief April Marie Dayap told CIO on Thursday that her office has already informed the consuls and diplomatic staff, as well as the foreign workers of their schedule, and the majority of them manifested interest to be fully vaccinated. Most of them, she said even followed up on their second dose.

“It only goes to show na gusto jud sila mahimong fully vaccinated pud. So we took it as a sign and a manifestation nga ingon ana sila ka-eager pud na ma fully vaccinated, which is a very good sign na gusto nila humanon ang ilang bakuna ug ang ilang vaccination. (It only goes to show that they are really interested to be fully vaccinated which is a very good sign that they are really eager to finish their vaccination),” Dayap said.

Dayap said that the difference of this second dose rollout is that this will be conducted at Almendras Gym as the first site, the lobby of the DCIPC Tourism Building, was not spacious enough to accommodate a big number of individuals.

Dayap hopes that through this vaccination rollout, more people will be more encouraged to be vaccinated and that they will have more trust in the vaccines because no less than the honorary consuls are getting their doses of the anti-Covid-19 vaccines. CIO
