Only park-based COVID-19 vaccination hubs will remain operational until June 30, 2022 while mall-based immunization sites have recently closed to pave the way for preparations in Davao City’s 18 district health centers, which will start the vaccination rollout on July 4, 2022.
Davao City COVID-19 Task Force Spokesperson Dr. Michelle Schlosser, during the COVID-19 Alert program of 87.5 FM Davao City Disaster Radio (DCDR) on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, said vaccination sites at the Malabog Elementary School, Calinan Central Elementary School, Gaisano Mall Toril, Gaisano Mall Bajada, and Gaisano Grand Citigate closed on June 24, 2022.
She said other vaccination hubs such as those in SM City Davao, SM Lanang Premier, NCCC Mall Buhangin, Gaisano Grand Mall Toril, and Abreeza Ayala Malls also wrapped up their services on June 28, 2022.
“Tomorrow ang last day of operation sa People’s Park and Crocodile Park (Tomorrow will be the last day of operation at People’s Park and Crocodile Park). Technically, all vaccination hubs will close by the end of this month,” Dr. Schlosser said, adding that they have been inspecting and preparing the district health centers to be conducive for the vaccination rollout of anti-COVID-19 vaccines.
She said the masterlist of health personnel and staff for vaccination rollout in district heath offices is already in place.
The earlier request to keep one mall-based vaccination hub in every congressional district and a drive-thru vaccination site at Crocodile Park, according to her, is still being studied by the Davao City COVID-19 Task Force.
The accination of the general population, A1 (medical frontliners), A2 (senior citizens), A3 (persons with comorbidities), A4 (essential workers), A5 (indigents), pediatric population 12-17, and pediatric population five to 11 years old will all be done at the district health centers.
The city health official, however, assured that all medical personnel to be deployed in the district vaccination sites are trained in administering the dosage for the five to 11 years old vaccinees as well as adults.
Meanwhile, she said the Department of Health (DOH) guidelines for the booster rollout for 12 to 17 have not yet been transmitted to the regional office, so the city’s Vaccination Cluster will still have to wait for it. CIO
