Expecting a surge of Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs) under the national governmentâs Hatid Tulong Initiative, the Davao City government of Davao has readied a public school as a temporary quarantine facility for stranded individuals.
Mayor Inday Sara Duterte said she is expecting around a hundred individuals who availed of the Hatid Tulong Initiative. On Monday, the first bus carrying 41 LSIs arrived in the city that are currently held at the facility in Barangay Lasang.
The mayor, however, clarified that the city will cease to use the facility once all the expected LSIs for this batch of Hatid Tulong arrive.
âPagkahuman nila sa ilahang testing and quarantine, pag all clear na tanan, we will not use that as a quarantine facility. Karon lang na siya para ani nga batch (After their testing and quarantine, when everything is cleared, we will not use that [school] as a facility. It is only for this batch),â the mayor said before Davao City Disaster Radio.
All arriving LSIs have to undergo a swab test on Tuesday that has been required by the Davao City government for all returning residents.
The city government has designated six (6) quarantine facilities in the city to cater to Covid-19 cases with a total of 285-bed capacity, of which, 72 beds are still available. CIO
