Davao City is now categorized as a Moderate Risk Local Government Unit (LGU) for Covid-19 based on the daily growth and attack rates in the past days.

In the latest data released by the Covid-19 Task Force as of February 5, the city recorded a -34.7 2 week growth rate classification which is “low”, and a 24.16 or “high” Average Daily Attack Rate for coronavirus.

Also, the number of critical risk barangays decreased from 105 for the period January 31- February 5, and five (5) barangays remained as the critical risk for the period February 7-February 12. These are Baguio Proper, Biao Guianga, Carmen, Tawan-tawan, and Waan.

There are still 29 listed High-Risk Barangays, six (6) High-Risk Barangays in close proximity to moderate risk barangays and 95 moderate risk barangays.

Davao City Covid-19 Task Force Spokesperson Dr. Michelle Schlosser in a previous interview on the Davao City Disaster Radio reminded Dabawenyos to remain vigilant and leave no room for complacency by following the minimum public health measures and get vaccinated or avail the booster dose of the anti-Covid vaccines as soon as possible.

Schlosser said that the public must remain vigilant because the possible rise in the number of cases cannot be predicted and may happen anytime. CIO
