Cash prizes await the winners of the 87.5 FM Davao City Disaster Radio’s (DCDR’s) “Otsenta’y Singkong Kanta-Sayaw sa Araw ng Dabaw Jingle Making Contest.”
The deadline for the submission of entries is set on March 15, 2022.
The contest, organized by the City Government of Davao through DCDR, offers P5,000, P3,000, and P2,000 for the top three placers while 15 consolation prizes of P1,000 will also be given away.
Interested participants may submit a two-minute to three-minute jingle in English, Tagalog, or Bisaya.
The jingle must be relevant to Davao City’s celebration of its 85th anniversary and the nature of a true Dabawenyo with the theme, “Mahal Kong Dabaw: Spread Love and Positivity Thru Music in the City.”
All entries must be original and not yet used or submitted to any contest. Taking any part from another song is prohibited, as well as copying the tune or melody of any song and using foul messaging or offensive words.
A participant can only submit one recorded entry. Send it in MP3 format along with an entry form to davaodisasterradio@gmail.com.
In submitting an entry, follow this format –
Subject: JINGLE_85th Araw ng Dabaw/ Title of Entry/Full name/ Address/ Contact details.
The criteria for judging are 40 percent for musicality (catchy melody, lively music, rhythm), 30 percent for lyrics (coherence, ingenuity, and relevance to the theme), and 30 percent for creativity (fresh sound, unique approach to jingle writing).
