The Davao City government is all set for the administration of booster dose for senior citizens in the second Bayanihan Bakunahan.
This was announced by Davao City Covid-19 Task Force Spokesperson Dr. Michelle Schlosser in an interview on the Bida Bakunado Program over the Davao City Disaster Radio. She said, however, said that booster doses for senior citizens are already included in limited sites.
āNaa na tay health districts nga open na for booster dose for A-2, sa atoang senior citizens (We have health districts open for the booster dose for A-2, our senior citizens),ā Schlosser said.
Senior citizens only need to present their vaccination card or VaxCert to avail the booster dose at the most convenient site where boosters are provided and open for walk-in.
Those who lost their vaccination card and do not have VaxCert yet can request a copy of their vaccination record at the Vaccination Cluster Office at the Teen Center located near Peopleās Park.
Schlosser said that hubs catering booster doses for seniors is limited due to space to cater to many individuals. She admitted it will be carefully planned to assign separate lanes for individuals getting boosters, anti-Covid pediatric vaccines, and vaccinees for first and second doses.
āKinahanglan planuhon pagyud siya kay different lane for booster dose, the different lane for pediatric, different lane for our adult vaccinees for first and second doseā¦ pero ubay-ubay na ang atong vaccination hubs karon nga naga-offer og booster dose for our senior citizen (There is a need to carefully plan the activity because there will be separate lanes for booster dose, for pediatric, for different for adult individuals for the first and second doses. But we already have some hubs that offer booster dose for senior citizens),ā she said.
Schlosser added that the second Bayanihan Bakunahan will have the same concept as the first Bayanihan.
āOpen ang tanang vaccination hub. I-serve nato ang tanang prioritization A-1 to A-5, pediatric patient (All the vaccination hubs are open. We will serve all priority groups from A-1 to A-5, and the pediatric patients),ā Schlosser said.
The city will also open the drive-thru vaccination hubs throughout the Bayanihan Bakunahan. Schlosser reiterated that vaccination is one of the two ways to prevent COVID-19 transmission and is equally important as following the minimum public health standards.
Earlier, Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte said that the city will do its best to cover the target number of herd immunity by the year-end. CIO
